Our Mission
The mission of The Jacob Betancourt Memorial Foundation is to honor the life and legacy of Jacob Betancourt by empowering young people to pursue careers in skilled trades while promoting awareness around the importance of off-road vehicle safety.
Jacob was known for his humor, his outgoing personality, and his big heart. He believed in forging his own path and staying true to who he was, regardless of what others thought. He was pursuing a career in welding before he tragically passed away in a UTV accident. Our foundation carries his spirit forward by supporting students who choose hands-on career paths and by working to prevent tragedies through increased awareness of Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV) safety.
What We Do
The foundation works to create meaningful opportunities and education through two core initiatives:
Trade School Scholarships
We provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue careers in skilled trades such as welding, electrical, construction, automotive technology, and other vocational professions. By helping remove financial barriers, we encourage hardworking students to build independent futures through valuable technical skills. By supporting the next generation of skilled workers, we continue Jacob’s legacy of courage, individuality, and strength. The foundation ensures that his spirit continues to inspire others to follow their own path and build a life they are proud of.
UTV Safety Awareness
In honor of Jacob’s memory, the foundation is also dedicated to raising awareness about the risks associated with UTVs and promoting safe riding practices. Through education, community outreach, and advocacy, we aim to help families and young rides better understand safety precautions that can prevent accidents and save lives.
Continuing Jacob’s Legacy
Jacob had a vibrant personality and determination to follow his own path. Through scholarships and safety awareness, The Jacob Betancourt Memorial Foundation ensures that his legacy continues to inspire others to work hard, stay true to themselves, and make choices that protect the lives and futures of those around them.
