Jacob’s Story
Jacob Betancourt was born in Sugar Land, TX November 26, 2004 to Steven and Alisha Betancourt. He grew up in Richmond, TX and became a Fulshear High School graduate in 2023. After high school, Jacob worked full time as an Engineering Technician and attended Texas State Technical College in Rosenberg, TX with a focus on welding. His passion lied in the great outdoors, tinkering with his truck, honing his welding skills, and cherishing every moment with friends. He was a country boy at heart who loved trucks (the louder the better), boots and jeans and, of course, country music. Jake was bright and witty and the hardest working kid; if he wasn’t outside helping his dad with the lawn, he was serving as an umpire at Lamar Little League or waking early to get to his job.
Jacob was the firstborn in his family and was a big brother to all in his close-knit neighborhood. He loved his three younger siblings (Luke, Ava, and Eli) and never missed the chance to show it by goofing around with them and rubbing their ears. You could often find Jake driving his siblings to their many sporting events, helping with their dinner…and never letting them win a game of UNO. As young adults tend to do, Jacob was building a life outside his home with his many friends and they, too, became his extended family.
Jacob passed away Friday March 15, 2024 in Yorktown, TX in a tragic UTV accident. His time with us was far too short, but the impact he made—on his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him—will endure for a lifetime.
Jacob lived with a spirit that was unmistakably his own: warm, generous, curious, and full of life. He approached each day with enthusiasm and heart. The memories he created, the love he gave, and the lives he touched continue to ripple outward. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the values he embodied, and the community that now carries his light forward.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever Jacob.
